Man found dead after mother refused money for alcohol

A 29-year-old man was found dead in Hulimavu on Sunday after his mother allegedly refused to give him money for alcohol and urged him to stop drinking.

The deceased was identified as Siddaraju, a native of Yadgir, who lived with his mother in a rented house near CK Palya. His mother works as a helper in a private school while Siddaraju was unemployed and allegedly addicted to alcohol.

According to the police, Siddaraj asked his mother for money on Saturday night, as he often did. When she refused and advised him to stop drinking, he allegedly left the house.

On Sunday morning, Siddaraju lay down in front of the back wheel of a garbage truck, which ran over him, killing him on the spot.

Police said CCTV footage from the area was examined which allegedly showed Siddaraju deliberately placing his head under the rear wheel of the truck as it was moving forward, confirming that it was a suicide.

The driver of the garbage truck allegedly did not know about the incident and fled the scene. Police have launched a manhunt to locate and question the driver.

The case has been registered at the Hulimavu police station and further investigation is underway.
