A 32-year-old day laborer who was attacked by a group of people protesting his alleged affair with a woman on Saturday succumbed to his injuries at the KC General Hospital.
The deceased, Narasimharaja, is a resident of Mutyalamma Nagar.
On Tuesday, Dhanalakshmi, sister of the deceased, alleged that her brother was having an affair with the widow for the past two-and-a-half years, which her family members objected to.
“The woman used to come home often and stay with him on the first floor of our house. On Saturday, she came and entered the room. Minutes later, her family members, including her father, brothers and relatives, barged into the house, dragged Narasimharaj outside and assaulted him,” Dhanalakshmi alleged.
Narasimharaja’s mother, who was at home at the time of the incident, was also attacked as she tried to save her son, the family said.
Narasimharaja was taken to a hospital where he was declared brought dead. The family also alleged that even after filing a complaint, the police have yet to arrest the accused and have shared CCTV footage with the media and demanded immediate action against the accused.
Meanwhile, the police clarified that a case of suspicious death has been registered and they are awaiting the post-mortem report and FSL report for further action.
