The man was fatally knocked down by the KSEB vehicle, while on Friday afternoon he ran a road in Chehlad near Kothamangalam.
The deceased was identified as a thank you, 60 years, from Thrikkariyoor. He sold pots and kitchen utensils along the Kothamangalam-Kerampara road.
The vehicle that was reportedly accelerated was thrown by an electric column and two -wheel wheels after the pedestrian hit.
Although the victim was rushed to a nearby hospital, he soon succumbed to injuries.
Police Kothangalam, who registered the case against the driver, said there were reports that the KSEB vehicle was set out and was on the wrong side.
