Man cooks parts of the human body; police found skulls, legs, hand: Social networks react | Today’s news

The Hungarian police detained a 30-year-old man suspected of collecting and storing parts of human bodies. The National Bureau of Investigation detained him in Budapest. The man works as an orderly at the hospital, the AP reported, citing a police statement issued on Tuesday.

During a search of his apartment, investigators made disturbing discoveries. Skulls, complete lower legs and a human hand were found. A reconstruction of a human face prepared from the skin of the face was also secured.

Other bones were found stored inside the trunk. A heart preserved in a jar was also discovered. Police, according to the AP agency, are investigating whether it is of human or animal origin.

The man admitted to collecting the body parts when questioned by the police. He told investigators he was particularly drawn to human remains. He also confessed to preparing food from such parts and eating them.

Police described the man as passionate about anatomy and pathology. He reportedly enjoys dissecting animals. Investigators believe he obtained the body parts both through his job at the hospital and by digging up graves. Suspected sources are abandoned cemeteries in Slovakia and Hungary.

The police seized computers, laptops, tablets, mobile phones, SIM cards and data cards at the property. He is currently being prosecuted on suspicion of illegal use of human bodies.

All body parts found will be examined by forensic experts. Investigators noted that the scope of the alleged crimes may expand as the origin of each item found is confirmed.

One user wrote: “Hopefully it was his family and friends who turned him in, otherwise…”

One user mentioned his profession: “This is absolutely terrifying… it’s beyond disturbing, especially when it’s someone in the healthcare field.”

“We used to say you are what you eat, I think people have officially found the only exception to that rule,” was the sarcastic comment.
