Police Bukpathnam Mandal in the Sri Satya Sai district registered a case against Palaiahgar Ramesh of Narsimpalli’s village for allegedly orbiting video on social media, claiming that his pension was unfairly withdrawn.
Ramesh received a pension for almost five years during the reign of the Congress Party YSR. However, officials said the recent verification drive revealed that it did not meet the capacity criteria. Its payments were subsequently interrupted after it was found that he was falsely claiming that he was a disabled person.
In response, Ramesh posted a video that claims that the withdrawal reflected the lack of compassion. However, the locals refuted their demands and claimed that they had no physical disability.
The police confirmed on Saturday that Ramesh is currently running and his family members were questioned. Details of the case were handed over to the police guards V. Ratn for further legal steps.
The revenue officials have explained that the verification exercises are focused on identifying incapable pensions, including those who have gained false demands, and have made sure that all truly competent recipients will continue to receive their demands.
