Accused in the custody of excise officers in Vikarabad district.
One person was taken into custody by excise officials on Saturday for cultivating ganja in agricultural fields in Vikarabad district. Officials seized 2.57 kilograms of dry ganja during the raid.
The operation was carried out by the Vikarabad District Task Force, which conducted searches in the fields belonging to accused Boini Ravi, a resident of Kudugunta village in Marpally Mandal. Police said the accused was growing ganja as a catch crop along with turmeric, trying to hide the illegal crop among the standing plants.
The seized contraband and case documents have been handed over to Mominpet police station officials for further investigation.
