
The museum police arrested a 36-year-old man in connection with a ₹75 crore bank fraud case involving forged documents. A small amount of MDMA was also seized from his possession during the arrest.
The accused, identified as Anuraj, a native of Thirumala and currently residing near Vijayamohini Mills, was taken into custody late on Sunday near Althara.
According to the police, the accused allegedly availed ₹75 lakh from the Althara branch of the State Bank of India by submitting forged documents. When he was apprehended after surveillance, officers discovered one gram of MDMA hidden in a secret compartment under the driver’s seat of his car.
A separate case was registered against him under the Narcotic and Psychotropic Substances Act (NDPS) for possession and attempt to transport contraband.
