A man transporting over 12 kilograms of Ganja worth 6.5 Lakh from Odisha to Maharashtra was arrested on Thursday in a joint operation of the government railway police (GRP) and telangana Anti-Narcotics Bureau (Tganb).
The accused was identified as 31 -year -old Samera Bishoya, a worker from the village of Dengadar in the district of Ganjam, Odisha. According to officials, BiShoyi was caught in an attempt to transport a trunk loaded to Ganja to the general coach of Devagiri Express Bound for Dadar. His accomplice, 29 -year -old Munna Nayak, from Mohana in the district of Gajapati in Odisha, managed to escape from the scene.
The police watched a trolley trunk, which remained unattended on the platform six. Later in the afternoon Bishoyi returned to get a bag and was arrested while trying to transfer it towards Devagiri Express.
Preliminary questioning revealed that Bishoyi was lured into the smuggling operation of Ganja Nayak, a friend. Bishoy, who had previously worked as a sales boy in Thane, Maharashtra, returned to his village six months ago for financial restrictions. About five months ago, he allegedly made friends with Nayak, who offered him 10,000 GBP per journey to help Ganja’s shipments to Maharashtra.
The duo has already made previous deliveries to places including Dadar, Thane and Kalyan. In this particular case, they joined the Express Konark from Brahmapur, Odisha, 16. April and the following day arrived at Secunderabad. They decided to travel through Telangana to avoid increased checks in the Mahari. The police presence at the station, however, forced them to leave the suitcase and temporarily flee.
Together with the confiscated Ganja, the police renewed the mobile phone and the railway card to the Dadar from the accused. There is an effort to track Nayak.
