The crime branch arrested a man in connection with derogatory contributions to social media, which were made against PP Divya, the then vice president of the Kannur district Panchayat, in 2018.
TK Asif (34), a native of Kunnumal in Ivrikur, was taken into custody by a team of crime led by a representative of the superintendent of the police (DY.SP) MV Anilkucar, according to the instructions of the P. Balakrishhnan Nair. The defendant, who was hiding in Ivrikur, was arrested on Tuesday evening.
Asif has been charged with insulting PP Divya through social media platforms during its office in the office. The police said there were several cases against him at the Irvricur station. After the arrest, he was made in court in Kannura.
