Both people accused of brutal murder 33 -year -old Shefeena in Mannanthale were taken into judicial custody on Sunday.
The defendant, her older brother Shamsad of Pothecode, and his friend Vyšhakh of Chempazhantha, were arrested by the police after the violent incident that took place on Saturday evening.
Shefeen, a native of Pothencode, was reportedly defeated by her brother and his friend after the heated argument escalated against violence. The murder occurred in a rented apartment near Mukkolakkal, where Shefeen lived with her parents and children.
Shefeen, who was the youngest of the five siblings, was separated from her husband for about six months. Shamsad expressed constant dissatisfaction over her choice of relationships and marital issues, especially criticizing her frequent video calls with friends. He blamed her behavior of the break -up of her marriage and the tension he had caused in the family. The dispute reached its peak on Saturday when Shamsad confronted Shefeen about her friendship, the police said.
The investigation team found out the role of Vyšhakha in the murder. The duo, which was found to be in a unwilling state, also allegedly prevented Shefeen’s parents from saving it during the attack.
