A 35-year-old man allegedly stabbed to death six people, including his wife, two young sons and three family members who had filed a complaint against him, in two separate attacks in Shabad mandal of Rangareddy district late on Friday (July 10) night. The accused is on the run.

The accused, identified as B. Rajkumar, allegedly committed the murders between 11.30 pm and midnight at two locations about six kilometers apart before calling his father at around 11.50 pm and informing him about the murders.

According to the police, Rajkumar was booked under Sections 11 and 12 of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offenses Act (POCSO) after he allegedly stalked and sexually harassed a minor girl. As he was sentenced to less than seven years for the offence, he was released on a personal bond of ₹20,000.

The police suspect that it was an act of revenge for a criminal case.

The victims were identified as a minor girl, her mother and maternal grandmother and Rajkumar’s wife Sarita, his four-year-old son and his one-and-a-half-year-old son. Investigators said Rajkumar allegedly used a knife to stab all six victims before slitting their throats. The weapon was found at one of the crime scenes.

After receiving the phone call, Rajkumar’s father went to Shabad police station and informed the police about his son’s alleged confession.

Commissioner of Police Tarun Joshi and Deputy Commissioner of Police Yogesh Gautam visited both the crime scenes and supervised the investigation. A case has been registered. Police said Rajkumar is still absconding and efforts are on to track him down and arrest him.
