The main minister of West Bengal Mamata Banerjee on Monday (July 28, 2025) hit the streets again to protest against the targeting of migrants from the state, and called on them to return to the state and then provide work in the state.
“Tell us the date and we will arrange the trains just as we did during Covid. Even if we have only one roti, we will share half. We will create more programs and give you a job.
At the beginning of the day during the administrative session Mrs. Banerjee suggested to include migrant workers who returned to the state after 100 days of work under MGNGA.

According to Mrs. Banerjee, they said there were 1.5 crore migrating workers in Bengal, 22 workers from Bengal. “This torture must stop at them. If we can offer a shelter to everyone, why can’t you (BJP)?” Mrs. Banejee said.
After the assembly of the protests, the chairman of the Chief Minister in her speech repeated references to the Bengal icons. “Who showed the way in the freedom movement? People of Bengal. Who wrote the national anthem?” She asked. She also undertook to continue her fight for the Bengali language. “If necessary, I’ll give my life. I won’t let anyone take my tongue,” she said.
It was not the first time that the chairman of the Congress Trinamool hit the streets of Protests focused on Bengal migrants and BJP accusations of developing the attack on the Bengal language. Mrs. Banejee on July 16 organized a similar protest march in Calcutta and on July 21st during the martyrs’ rally, her party called on the “language movement”.
