Mild to heavy rains in many parts of the Mallnad region influenced life on Monday. Two people died, the movement of the vehicle was affected and the tides were increased.
The woman around 100 died and three more suffered injuries when the wall of the house collapsed in Adagadi near Kumsi, in Shivamogga Taluk around 2.30 pm on Monday.
Siddamma, a native of Konkava in Nyamath Taluk from the Davangere district, was visiting her related place Hemavath and she did on the spot; Hemavathe’s daughter Pallavi, son -in -law parashuram and grandson chetan suffered injuries. Police Kumsa registered the case.
The branch falls on the rider
In the next incident, Anil Ruzario, 50, died after a tree branch fell on him, while he rode a bike near Elekal on the Chikkamagaluuru-Baleonur road on Monday.
Fire and emergency services and the police transferred him to the government hospital in Ballehonru, but the doctors declared him dead. He suffered a serious head injury.

Shivamogga recorded an average of 68.6 pm with precipitation compared to the normal 19.8 pm recorded in the last 24 hours, ending on Monday at 8:30; Chikkagalaruru recorded 34.4 pm compared to normal 14.4 mm and the Hassan district recorded an average of 18.1 hours against normal 18:00.
All rivers are in a lot and increase the tide into the tanks. All tunga stallions in Gajanur were open to release excess water. Similarly, the tide to Linganmakki in Sagar Taluk and the Bhadra tank in Lakkavalli increased. The area around Jog Falls in Sagar Taluk gets heavy rains.

Given the repeated incidents of landslide and dilapidated state of small bridges in the section, the district Chikkamagalur administration banned the movement of heavy vehicles in the section. In addition, there was a landslide in the village of Kundagal in Aramanekoppa Gram Panchayat in Hosanagar Taluk, raising concerns about the locals.
Many trees and poles of electricity were uprooted due to rains. Operation on the road connecting Chikkamagalur and the hills in Taluk was influenced when a huge tree fell on the road on Monday. Local police, forest officials and employees of fire and emergency services are working hard to clean roads to move the vehicle.
