Malaysalalam filmmaker Ranjith Balakrishnan was on Friday after the High Court in Karnataka, bought a complaint filed against him aspiring male actor, Bar and Bench reported.
The only bench of justice Sr Krishna Kumar canceled the case after observing that the complainant’s demands were false. The judge also questioned the delay in the administration of the case concerning the incident that took place in 2012, the report added.
The court noted that the TAKA Hotel near Bengalur Airport, where the alleged incident allegedly occurred, was opened only in 2016. The bench emphasized the glaring factual inaccuracies in the case and canceled it.
“The complaint on the face is false. I am not even saying Prima Facia, because the Taji Hotel near International Bengalur Airport started its activities only in 2016, it is in a public domain, it is four years after the incident.
“The complaint is registered in 2024 and allegedly became in 2012. Therefore, the complainant took 12 years to register the complaint. The delay of 12 years is also completely inexplicable. Therefore, all these factors become a classic Falsus case in Omnibus,” Bench added.
What’s that?
According to the youth details, she claimed that Ranjith dealt with unnatural sex at the Hotel Taj near the International Bengalur Airport.
The complainant claimed that Ranjith invited him to the fourth floor of the Hotel Taj and provided a detailed description of the events.
On the basis of the complaint, Ranjith was booked by the Kozaba police in Kozhikode in August 2024 for offenses under Section 377 (unnatural crimes) of the Indian Criminal Code and Section 66e (penalty for privacy) of the 2000 Information Technology Act.
After that, however, was later transferred to the Karnataka police.
It’s not the first case:
Previously, his colleagues were accused against Ranjith. Even the Bengal actor Sreelek Mitra filed a complaint against Ranjith. In her complaint, she claimed that Ranjith was acting on Kochi’s film discussions in 2009.
