Police in the field of computer crime in Kochi on Monday (June 30, 2025) arrested Malaysian actor Min Muneer (45) in connection with the case registered on the basis of the actor-director Balachandry Menon, who accused her of making obscene and slander comments on the social media.
After the police station for cyber crime, she surrendered after the High Court in Kerala rejected her predictive bail and ordered her to appear in front of the police. Later she was released on bail according to the direction of the High Court.
In this case, Mrs. Muneer was one of the two accused. The second accused was identified as Sangeeth Luis, 45.
The case was registered on October 2, 2024. The defendants were booked under Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) Sections 351 (2) (intimidation of the crime), IT acts 67 (publishing or transfer of obscene material in electronic form). According to Fir, Mrs. Muneer, she was constantly publishing derogatory contributions against the petitioner, published a photo of the petitioner and made vulgar comments. The second accused allegedly carried out the threat of the petitioner 13 and 14 September 2024.
The alleged posts came shortly after the HEM Committee report on alleged atrocities against women in the film industry.
