Visitors to Malarikkal, the picturesque village of Backwater, renowned for their breathtaking water lilies in the monsoon morning, will be able to enjoy a spectacle for several hours every day from next season.
Initiative for the relinkation of the Meenachil-Meenanthara-Kodoor River, which organizes the annual Water Lily festival called Ambal Vasnatham in Malarikkal, plans to install sunlight on the spot. This allows visitors to admire the pink floral carpet from midnight, when the flowers begin to bloom.
According to K. Anil Kumar, a collective team, there are plans to set up a shrine for migratory birds in Malarikkal. As part of this initiative, a study on migratory birds will be conducted in cooperation with Kottayam ties.
“Innovative ideas are tested to make the place even more attractive. For example, Shajimon vs, president of Malarikkal Tourism Society, introduced honeymoon in his family in the season and transformed a place into a romantic goal. It was a great success,” he said.
Meanwhile, this year’s Lily Bloom in Malarikkal is expected to end up to 5 October. The festival stretches through Thiruvaarpu J. Block (1,800 acres) and Thiruvaikkari (850 acres), after which unpeeled cultivation for the next cycle begins.
The organizers claim that farmers have already started installing engines in unpeeled fields to prepare for cultivation. Once the connection of electricity is in place, the water drainage can be completed within seven days, although the timeline can be expanded if the collision occurs.
This year’s Ambal Vanantham festival has grown remarkably and has grown to more than 200 fields compared to 120 last year, with a season lasting more than 100 days. The constant influx of visitors brought significant advantages to the local community and, through tourism, generated an estimated CRORE 5 GBP. Domates in this area also noted a remarkable increase in demand.
