Malappuram district secured a hat-trick in the State School Science Festival that concluded here on Monday, securing 1,548 points to claim the top spot for the third consecutive year.
Though Palakkad and Kannur scored 1,487 points each, Palakkad got the second position based on the 17 first prizes it won and Kannur the third.
Thrissur district stood fourth with 1,477 points, followed by Kozhikode (1,468), Ernakulam (1,427), Wayanad (1,409), Kottayam (1,400), Thiruvananthapuram (1,397), Kollam (1,392), Kasaragod (1,392), Alappamuzth (1,336) and Idukki (1,186). 313).
At the school level, Sacred Heart HSS, Dwaraka, Wayanad emerged as the overall winner with 164 points. Durga Higher Secondary School, Kanhangad, Kasaragod, came second with 140 marks and Fathima Matha Girls Higher Secondary School, Koompanpara, Idukki got third position with 135 marks.
In the high school category of the science mela, Rajiv Gandhi Memorial HSS, Mokeri, Kannur won the first prize and St. Thomas HS, Marangattupilly, Kottayam won the second prize.
In high school mathematics mela, mihs, ponkivu, alappuzha, won first prize and GVHSS, Mananthavadi, Wayanad, second prize.
In the High School Social Science mela, Memunda HSS, Kozhikode and WOHSS, Pinangode, Wayanad, shared the first prize and STHSS, Irattayar, Idukki, won the second prize.
In high school practice mela, Durga HSS, Kanhangad, Kasaragod, won the first prize and HSS, Panangad, Thrissur, won the second prize.
IT mela High School, CHSS, Chattanchal, Kasaragod won the first prize while Gandhiji EMGHS, Santhigram, Idukki and IUHSS, Parappur, Malappuram shared the second prize.
In Higher Secondary Science mela, Mamparam HSS, Kannur won the first prize and Catholicate HSS, Pathanamthitta won the second prize.
In Higher Secondary Mathematics, mela, GHSS, Konni, Pathanamthitta, won the first prize and TRK HSS, Vaniyamkulam, Palakkad, won the second prize.
In Higher Secondary Social Science, Mela, Ghss, Puthoor, Columber, won the first prize with Ghss, Konni, Pathanamtta and Swamiji’s HSS, Edneer, Kasaragod sharing the second prize.
In Higher Secondary Work experience, Durga HSS, Kanangad, Kasaragod, won the first prize and Ghss, Karakkunu, Malapurum, won the second prize.
In the upper secondary IT mela, St. Ephreme’s HSS, Mannanam, Kottayam, won the first prize and Sacred Heart HSS, Dwaraka, Wayanad, won the second prize.
Valedictorian function
Director of General Education Umesh NSK inaugurated the valedictory function held at Government Moyan Model Girls Higher Secondary School on Monday evening.
He also distributed cups for the winners. Additional Director CA Santhosh presided over the function. Additional Principal Shibu RS, Deputy Principal Higher Secondary Education Ubaidulla, Chief Planning Officer General Education Deepa Martin, Deputy Director Education Saleena Beevi and District Education Officer Asif Aliyar spoke.
Joint Director of General Education Aboobacker welcomed the meeting. Convener of the admissions committee Biju Vijayan proposed a vote of thanks.
