Three suburban stations in two cities – Hafizpet, Huppuguda and City hits – under the southern central railway (SCR) are rebuilt with a total cost of 81.97 crore. The work is close to completion and is expected to be ready for public use over the next three months.
The reconstruction of the stations includes modern equipment such as new passenger waiting halls, digital boards, 12 feet across the legs equipped with two elevators and escalators, extended circulatory areas, new facades of stations and circulation areas, other hiding places for platforms, disabled toilets and so on.
The official SCR spokesman informed on Wednesday that the Hafizpet station, located on the Lingamplly-Falaknuma route, sees an average daily strike of about 9,000 passengers, with approximately 60 MMT and eight express trains. It is upgraded at the price of 29.21 crore.
The Huppuguda station, in the Falaknuma-Kacheguda section, takes care of 5,000 passengers daily and processes around 50 trains, including suburban services. The station receives a second entrance point and increased passenger equipment for 26.81 crore.
HITECH CITY STATION, also on the Falaknuma-Landammplly line, develops at the price of CRORE 25.95 GBP. The station will include a new reservation office and a redesigned facade. It has a passenger around 4,000 with 62 trips a day. At this station there is a proposal to stop trains for short and long -distance distances.
These stations, which are expected to be prepared by the end of the year, are among the 40 in Telangana selected within the AMRIT Bharat station with an estimated total expenditure of 2,752 Crore.
The Prime Minister Narendra Modi laid the cornerstone for the reconstruction of these stations between August 2023 and February 2024. Three stations – Begumpet, Warangal and Karimnagar – have already been opened. The ongoing reconstruction of Secunderabad, Hyderabad, Kacheguda and Lingampily also falls into the same scheme.
