Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu on Thursday directed officials to focus on converting signed investment agreements into operational projects and ensuring the start of production of units.

At the 22nd meeting of the State Investment Promotion Board (SIPB), chaired by Mr. Naidu in his office, officials informed him that work on 519 of the 714 investment agreements signed earlier had started.

The meeting discussed investment proposals across industries, energy, tourism, information technology, electronics, food processing and infrastructure.

Mr. Naidu called for a world-class international convention center in Visakhapatnam to facilitate holding of investment summits. He also highlighted the importance of investment, infrastructure development and food processing in developing the Rayalaseema region into a global hub for horticulture.

Highlighting connectivity as a key part of the state’s logistics infrastructure, the chief minister asked officials to focus on ports, airports, road and rail networks and east-west connectivity.

The Chief Minister also called for the development of a semiconductor manufacturing ecosystem in Andhra Pradesh, with the manufacturing units forming part of a wider industrial network.

Ministers Nara Lokesh, TG Bharath, Anagani Satya Prasad, Gottipati Ravi Kumar, P. Narayana and Kandula Durgesh along with officials from various departments attended the meeting virtually.
