Make a final call on allotment of land to a school in Tarnaka: HC Govt
The Telangana High Court on Friday said it will not hesitate to summon the Chief Secretary unless appropriate orders are passed to allot five acres of government land to the Education Department for the construction of a government school at Hanumannagar in Tarnaka, Hyderabad.
Justice Suddala Chalapathi Rao of the vacation bench of the HC, after hearing a writ petition filed by some parents of students of the school, said a decision in the matter should be taken by the next hearing. The petitioners informed the bench that the present school is being run from Telangana Dairy Development Co-operative Federation type D quarters in Tarnaka.
The petitioners alleged that the two neighborhoods lacked basic amenities that put the children in trouble. Parents of the school children and members of the Vijaya Dairy Prabhutva Patashala Shashvatha Bhavana Sadhana Samithi represented the government to allot two type A quarters for running the school.
The two Type A quarters were empty as Federation operations were moved to the village of Ravirala on the outskirts of the city. Originally the government school was at Seetafalmandi. It was shifted to Tarnaka in 1961 at the request of the federation to meet the educational needs of its children and those living in the localities around Tarnaka.
Ever since the Federation moved its activities to Ravirala, most of the 42 acres of land in Tarnaka had been lying unused. The Telangana government has taken a policy decision to construct 100 public schools. Five acres of the same federation land can be earmarked for the construction of one such public school by upgrading Seetafalmandi School, which is currently being run from Tarnaka, the petitioners claimed.
