Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan said that there are forces in the country which are constantly trying to communalise the minorities and this needs to be understood. He added that those who wear the mask of secularism should be recognized.
He was speaking at a reception organized for Samastha Shatabdi Sandesh Yatra led by Samastha Kerala president Jamiyyathul Ulama Syed Muhammad Jifri Muthukoya Thangal at Putharikandam Maithanam in Thiruvananthapuram on Saturday.
“The liver led by Mr. Thangal should send a strong message that no one will be allowed to disrupt the unity and peace of the country. At the same time, we should also understand that there are some forces that use minority communalism as a means against majority communalism. Religion and communalism are two different things. The common nature of all these purposes is trained professional communalists who are capable of spreading lies and communalism.” to identify the various tactics of these forces,” the chief minister said.
‘No Compromise’
It is also important that there is no compromise towards those who are trying to counter majority communalism through minority communalism, Mr. Vijayan said. These two communalisms complement each other. “We have to be able to distinguish between them both. It is also a time when we have to act more cautiously because unity in diversity is being undermined every moment. Samstha is an outfit that has been able to stand on the side of humanity in a time when communalism is rampant. Samastha has been able to fight for the just rights of the Muslim community,” he said.
The state government is ready to address the problems of minorities at every stage and move forward with them, he said. The Left has always taken an uncompromising stand to protect the secular structure of the country. Whenever communalism raised its head, the Left stood firm against such forces and had a history of opposing communal forces, he added.
