Major Reorganization of IAS in Kerala; B. Ashok is the Principal Secretary for Higher Education and N. Prashanth is the Special Secretary for Sports
In a major reshuffle, the Kerala government on Monday appointed B. Ashok, a 1998-batch IAS officer whose suspension was revoked on June 6, as principal secretary of the higher education department.
N. Prashanth, another IAS officer whose suspension was also revoked on June 6, is the new Special Secretary, Sports Department. Mr. Prashanth will have full additional charge of Special Secretary, Department of Youth Affairs, Zoological Gardens, Museum, Archeology and Archives.
Rathan U. Kelkar, who recently took charge as Secretary to the Chief Minister, will hold the full additional charge of Secretary of the newly created Department of Senior Citizens as well as the Department of Coastal and Inland Navigation, Information and Public Relations.
Bishwanath Sinha, Additional Principal Secretary (Home and Vigilance), will have all additional charges of Coir Development Department and Housing Department in addition to his existing additional charges of Water Resources Department.
KR Jyothilal, Additional Principal Secretary (Finance) will have full additional charge of Planning and Economic Affairs Department and Member-Secretary, Kerala State Planning Board. He will continue to hold the additional charges of Tax Department, Rebuild Kerala Initiative and Public Procurement Advisory Department. Rajan N. Khobragade, Additional Chief Secretary (Health and Family Welfare), will continue to bear the additional charge of Additional Chief Secretary, AYUSH Department.
MG Rajamanickam is the new Chairman and Managing Director of the Kerala State Electricity Board (KSEB). It will have additional charges for ministers, power, environment and parliamentary affairs. The present CMD of KSEB, Minhaj Alam, has been transferred and appointed as Additional Chief Secretary, Agriculture Department and as Commissioner for Agricultural Production.
Raju Narayanaswamy was transferred and appointed as Principal Secretary, Sainik Welfare Department. Sharmila Mary Joseph is the new Principal Secretary for Health and Family. He will bear all additional charges of food and civil supplies and consumer affairs department.
Tinku Biswal will continue to hold the additional post of Director General of the Institute of Management in Govt.
Biju K. has been appointed as Secretary, Forest and Wildlife Department. It will bear all additional charges of Skill Development Department and Cashew Department in addition to its existing Additional Charges of General Administration Department and Tourism Department.
TV Anupama has been transferred and posted as Secretary, Transport Department. In addition to its existing additional charges for the development of Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes and the development of backward classes, it will bear the full additional charge for the Department of Airports, Metro Rail, Personnel and Administrative Reforms.
Adeela Abdulla was appointed Special Secretary for Public Works. Jeevan Babu was appointed as Special Secretary, Revenue and Disaster Management; Suhas S. as the new Special Secretary, Water Resources Department and Shanavas S., Special Secretary, Local Government Department. Mr. Shanavas will bear all additional charges of Executive Director, Roads and Bridges Development Corporation of Kerala Ltd. and Special Director, Capital Region Development Project.
Divya S. Iyer has been appointed as Chief Director, Local Government Department. TV Subhash is Special Secretary, Agriculture Department. Afsana Perween is the new Director of Collegiate Education. Ms Perween will bear the full additional charge of the Controller of Entrance Examinations. Geromic George was appointed Officer on Special Duties, Finance (Expenditure) Department. He will have full additional responsibility of Managing Director, Vizhinjam International Seaport Ltd and Managing Director, Kerala Maritime Board.
Asif K. Yusuf is the new director of NORKA. Snehil Kumar Singh is the new Director of General Education. He will hold the full additional charge of Director General, Education Rejuvenation Mission. Prem Krishnan S. has been appointed Registrar of Co-operative Societies.
