Major General Arun CG has taken charge as the new Additional Director General (ADG), National Cadet Corps (NCC), Kerala and Lakshadweep Region.
Major General Arun, who hails from Thiruvananthapuram, was earlier commanding the army brigade at Pangode here. As commander of the 91 Infantry Brigade, he demonstrated exemplary leadership in dealing with the flood situation in Kerala in 2018 and was awarded the President’s Vishisht Seva Medal, a defense spokesperson said.
A graduate of the National Defense Academy, he also qualified in various military courses from the Defense Services Staff College, the Army War College and the National Defense College.
A 1991 batch officer of the Indian Army, he was commissioned into the 20th Battalion of the Kumaon Regiment. In a career spanning 34 years, he served in a wide range of command, staff and instructional roles. Apart from several posts in the Rashtriya Rifles, he also held important assignments in the Military Secretary’s Branch, Directorate of Military Operations.
