
Trinamool Congress (TMC) MP Mahua Moitra moved the Delhi High Court on Thursday, February 19, seeking custody of a pet Rottweiler named Henry. On a motion by Mahua Moitra, the High Court issued a notice to the defendant advocate Jai Anant Dehadrai in connection with the case.
Hearing the matter, Justice Manoj Kumar Ohri issued a notice to Jai Anant Dehadrai and sought his reply on TMC MP Moitra’s plea.
The matter of Mahua Moitra’s petition will be heard on April 29.
In November 2025, Trinamool Congress MP Saket challenged the court order, refusing Mahua Moitra’s 10-day custody of Henry every month.

The Saket court rejected Mahua Moitra’s prayer for guardianship of Henry. She challenged the order saying that the order was wrong in law and fact.
Mahua Moitra said her pet dog primarily lived with her unless she left Delhi for official duties in her constituency in West Bengal. During that time, Henry lived with Jai Anant Dehadrai. Last September, the Delhi High Court had issued a notice to TMC MP Mahua Moitra on an appeal against a trial court order filed by advocate Jai Anant Dehadrai and directed him not to publish the matter.
The matter concerned the care of a pet Rottweiler, Henry, and remains pending in the Saket court.
Justice Manoj Jain issued a notice to MP Mahua Moitra and asked her to file a reply. Senior advocate Sanjoy Ghosh appeared for Dehadrai.
The plea before the Supreme Court said that Moitra filed a custody case against Dehadrai over a pet dog named “Henry” that Dehadrai bought in 2021.
