After the celebration of Mahisha Dasar at the City Hall in Mysuru, the organizational committee of the Festival Three Resolution, including renaming Mysur as “Mahisur” in memory of Mahisha – “Benevolent Buddhist ruler”, accepted.
Mahisha Mandalsava Samiti has long been of the opinion that Mahishasura was a “benevolent Buddhist ruler” whose identity was “distorted” due to interests. He claims that the name of Mysuru was derived from the “humanitarian Buddhist ruler Mahisha”, who represented the indigenous inhabitants of the region, but incorrectly reflected as a “demon” defeated by the goddess Chamundeshware.
Former mayor Purushottam, led by the Mahisha Dasar Organizational Committee, said Hindu that the three resolutions adopted by the Dasar festival on this occasion.
Previously, Mahisha Dasar was celebrated by offering flower tribute to the idols of Buddha, Brus Ambedkara and Mahishasura at the Town Hall after the city police had banned against the assembly around the Mahishasura on the Hill Chamundi.
The Commissioner of the Municipal Police of Seema Latkar issued orders imposing prohibitions according to Section 163 BNS, 2023, in a 200 meter around the statue of Mahishasura from Tuesday midnight to 6:00 on Thursday with regard to Mahisha Dasar celebrations, which were scheduled for Wednesday.
The organizers of Mahisha Dasara requested permission to offer flower honors by the statue of Mahishasura as part of the celebrations.
The police said that the ban was imposed with regard to the opinions of different organizations about the celebration of Mahisha Dasar. “If an organization or public violates this order and attempts to organize a meeting, function, parade, protest or assembly, such assemblies will be considered unlawful assemblies and legal action will be taken against the breach of this order,” the Municipal Police said on Tuesday.
The municipal police also covered the Mahishasura statue at the top of Chamundi Hills and did not allow members of the Mahisha Dasar organizational committee anywhere nearby.
Later, the organizers returned to the town hall, where a public meeting took place in the middle of the police security.
Among the speakers at a public meeting were among the spokespersons at the public meeting of Jnanaprakash Swami, a fortune fortune by Peddi Mutt and the writer of KS Bhagavan.
Jnanaprakash Swami believed that the dignitaries who participate in the inauguration function of Mysur Dasar at the top of Chamundi hills should offer flower tribute to Mahishasura.
The believer urged the government to also allocate funds to Mahisha Dasar, and stated that the celebration of Mahis Dasar was their “religious law”, and threatened to file cases against the district administration officials for denies their “rights”.
