
The Mahashtra Government has issued new instructions for social media for government employees, a notice issued by the Ministry of General Administration of the State Government, which will prevent demonstration.
The aim of this step is to solve several problems, including the dissemination of intimate government information, spreading misinformation through social media and expressing reactions to social media in violation of government rules.
Disciplinary measures will be taken against employees who do not follow government instructions, the circle said.
In his statement of 28 July, the ministry stated that the growing prevalence and comfort of social media and fast news sites such as Facebook, LinkedIn, X, YouTube, WhatsApp and Telegram have created a “danger” of the distribution of confidential information and the dissemination of misleading information.

The new instructions will apply to officers and employees of the Maharashtra Government, including anyone on a contractual basis or delegations; Employees in local bodies, councils, corporations and public companies.
