On Sunday, a massive political line broke out in Mahari after the State Minister of Agriculture Manicrao Kokate was reportedly caught by playing a rum game on his mobile phone in the State Legislative Assembly.
Provided video Kokate playing the game shared NCP-SP MLA Rohit Pawar.
Meanwhile, Supriya Sule criticized Kokata and demanded his resignation.
“It is shameful that the Minister of Agriculture is busy playing online, while farmers commit suicide. Manicrao Kokate must resign,” Supiya Sule said.
The alleged video became viral when thousands of farmers were affected as a result of extended floods, especially from the Vidarbha region.
Minister responds to criticism
Manicrao Kokate responded to criticism and said that the game is not Rummy, but Solitaire, claims that the opposition is trying to dismantle the government.
“It is a Solitaire game, not Rummy. Anyone of my colleagues had to download it. I tried to see what was happening in the lower house. I didn’t play Rummy. The opposition is trying to humiliate the government,” Manicrao Kokate told reporters.
Rohit Pawar ran to the Minister of Agriculture
The NCP (Sharad Pawar) fraction also took a sharp blow in Kokate and the ruling NCP fraction in the Mahari – claimed that she was unable to function without consulting with BJP.
“The ruling NCP fraction is unable to function without consulting BJP, and because there are several questions related to agriculture and eight farmers who commit suicide in the state daily, it seems that the Minister of Agriculture, who has no job, has time to play Rummy,” Parit said on X.
“Do you really keep such a minister?”
Congress leader Vijay Namdevrao Wadettiwar, who added to the JABS series in Manicrao Kokate, said:
Suicide of farmers Maharashtra
At the beginning of this month, the Maharashtra government revealed that 767 farmers in the state died suicide during the first quarter of 2025, emphasized by the deepening crisis in the agricultural sector, today reported India.
The relief and rehabilitation Minister Makarand Jadhav Patil, in a written answer to the legislative council, dealt with concern with the opposition of MLC DR Pradnya Rajeev Satav, Satej Patil and Bhai Jagtap and delay in compensation.
At the beginning of this week, the Mahashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis said the Mahayuti government is determined to provide farmers to surrender the loan. “The loan release is a short -term measure. We have set up a committee that proposes long -term solutions to resolve agricultural stress and the carrying of farmers from the debt,” he said.
