The Maharashtra The civil servants’ strike, which began on April 21, has been called off. Vishwas Katkar, convener of the Staff Coordination Committee, claimed that a concrete decision on the 18 demands would not be possible unless Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis held an official meeting.
The nationwide indefinite strike of government employees, semi-government employees and teaching and non-teaching staff was called off on Thursday evening (April 23, 2026). The decision followed a meeting with Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis during which the administration agreed to address key demands.
