A shocking twist in the alleged suicide of a Maharashtra woman came to light when a woman identified as Bhagyashree Maruti Pachangne from Satara district alleged that a doctor signed a fake post-mortem report due to her being under pressure and her daughter Deepali’s death was not natural and said the post-mortem report did not reflect this, according to an NDTV report.
She also reportedly called for a comprehensive investigation into the suspicious circumstances surrounding her daughter’s death.
According to the report, the doctor also included the former MP in another four-page suicide note. She reportedly said two personal assistants of the former MP asked the doctor to declare the accused, Malhari Channe, medically fit, besides accusing sub-inspector Gopal Badan of rape and software engineer Prashant Bankar of mental harassment.
“Phaltan politicians often asked her to change the medical reports as she used to undergo post-mortem regularly. She complained several times to the PSI (said in the memo) but her complaints were not investigated,” PTI quoted a relative as saying.
Bhagyashree Pachangne has alleged that her daughter was married to Indian Army officer Ajinkya Hanmant Nimbalkar and suffered constant physical and mental harassment from him and his family. She reportedly committed suicide on August 19 because she was unable to bear the abuse.
However, Pachangne believed that it could have been a murder. She further alleged that the police did not provide the post-mortem report even five days after Deepali died. Pachangne stated that when the family finally received the report a month later, it was completely false, claiming that Nimbalkar had used his political and police connections to cover up the case.
“She was murdered, she would never do such a thing”
According to the report, she said, “On August 17, we received a call from our son-in-law informing us that Deepali was in a critical condition and we admitted her to Raut Hospital in Phaltan. We were shocked as we assumed that since she was pregnant, she might have fainted or fallen due to dizziness.”
Upon arrival at the hospital, her brother-in-law “informed us that Deepali took her life… I highly doubt that,” she continued.
She added: “My daughter couldn’t have done that. She was six months pregnant and had a one-and-a-half-year-old daughter – how could she leave them? She would never do such a thing. I believe she was murdered.”
