The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) won 57 of the 115 seats in the Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar Municipal Corporation elections on Friday (January 16, 2026).
All India Majlis E Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) became the second largest party by winning 33.

While the BJP won 57 of the 93 seats it contested, the Eknath Shinde-led Shiv Sena contested 96 seats but could only win 13 seats. The two allies fought the election separately.
Shiv Sena (UBT) won 6 seats, Vanchit Bahujan Aghadi four and Congress and NCP (SP) won 1 seat each.
In the 2015 elections, an undivided Shiv Sena won 29 of the 113 seats, while the BJP then won 22 seats.
AIMIM won 25 seats last time.
