Maharashtra Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Member of Legislative Assembly (MLA) Shivajirao Kardile from Rahuri constituency has died at the age of 67, state BJP president Ravindra Chavan said.
He reportedly had a heart attack. Though he was rushed to Sai Deep Sahyadri Hospital in Ahilyanagar due to breathing problems, doctors confirmed his death, according to reports.
Paying tribute to Kardile, Chavan said, “The passing away of Shivajirao Kardile, MLA of Rahuri Assembly constituency in Ahilyanagar district, due to a brief illness is an extremely unfortunate and sad event. He was active in the political and social spheres of Nagar district for many years. From being the Sarpanch of the state village MLA and the village MLA and a distinguished political journey”.
He added: “His demise is the loss of a dedicated leader who worked tirelessly to serve the people. May his soul find salvation. May the Kardile family find strength to recover from this grief.”
Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) working president and MP Supriya Sule joined X in condoling and said, “The news of the demise of Shivajirao Kardile, the current MLA of Rahuri-Nagar-Pathardi constituency and Chairman of Ahilyanagar District Bank is extremely sad. The grief that has befallen the Kardile family due to his death.” Heartfelt tribute to him.”
“The news of the untimely demise of Shivajirao Kardile, a well-known leader in the political and social spheres of Ahmednagar district, former minister and MLA of Rahuri constituency is heartbreaking. I share the grief that has befallen the Kardile family on his passing away. My sincere condolences,” and former Parlijarashtra Cabinet Minister Mharashaytra said Munde.
Who was Shivajirao Kardile?
Shivajirao Kardile, 67, studied in high school and then dropped out of education. He also served as MLA for Rahuri, Maharashtra twice earlier. He was elected in 2009 and again in 2014 as a BJP candidate. As the representative of Rahuri constituency, he was involved in dairy business before his political career.
