The son of the Jyotiraditya Scindia and the vice -president of the cricket Association Gwalior Division Mahanaryaman Scindia was unanimously elected President Madhya Pradesh Cricket Association (MPCA) on Monday, the official said.
29 -year -old member of the former royal family Gwalior became the youngest chief of MPCA, founded in 1957, and is the royal third generation that led the cricket body, said.
Talking with the PTI, the main administrative director of MPCA, Rohit Pandit, said that all contributions were occupied in the Association’s elections. The newly elected executive will be formally ratified during the annual General Meeting on Tuesday, after which the wearers of the office will take over the accusations, he said.
Pandit said that the new dead includes Vinet Sethia as vice -chairman, Sudhir Asnani as a secretary, Arundhati Kherkire as a common secretary and Sanjeev duo as a treasurer.
Sandhya agarwal, Prasoon Kanamdikar, Rajiv Risodkar and Vijesh Rana are members of the committee, while the Crynet Committee Commands Prada Bnerjee, Ramnik Patel and Abhay Laghate.
Outgoing President of MPCA Abhilash Khandekar said PTI: “In the last six years, MPCA has gained several milestones. I hope the newly elected executive under the leadership of Mahanaryaman Scindia will take the association to new heights.”
The involvement of Mahanaryaman in cricket administration has grown over the past three years. He was appointed GDCA vice president and in 2022 he became a lifelong member of MPCA. He also works as President Madhya Pradesh T20 League (MPL), which was launched in Gwalior in 2024.
For decades, the Scindie family swung over the cricket administration in the state. MPCA presidents also served Mahanaryaman’s late grandfather Madhavrao Scindia and his father Jyotiradity Scindia.
State Minister Kailash Vijayvargiya questioned the dominance of the Scindie family in MPCA about 15 years ago. In the 2010 elections, Jyotiraditya Scindia defeated Vijayvargiya of 70 votes in the Presidential Post competition, with the fraction of Scindia gaining all key executive positions.
Based on the recommendations of the Lodha Committee, Jyotiradity’s Scindia and senior administrator Sanjay Jagdale had to resign from MPCA jobs in January 2017 because they both completed the management committee for more than nine years, causing them to continue.
