
He started a procession from Kalpathy in Palakkad on Wednesday in connection with the ongoing Mahamagham festival in Tirunavaya. The procession was originally scheduled to start from Thirumoortha near Udumalpet in Tamil Nadu, where the Bharathapuzha River originates, and reach Palakkad on Wednesday.
However, after the Tamil Nadu government denied permission for the rath yatra, the organizers decided to start the procession from Kalpathy instead. The procession included Vadakkanthara, Yakkara, Kodunthirapully, Anikkode, Mangara, Pampadi, Tiruvilwamala and Kuthampully. It will pass through Chinakkathur, Vaniyamkulam, Kulappully, Pattambi, Thrithala and Kuttippuram before arriving at the Mahamagham venue on the banks of the Bharathapuzha in Tirunavaya on Thursday.
