
Magnus Carlsen (Pic Credit: X) World number one Magnus Carlsen appeared victorious at freestyle chess Grand Slam in Paris and sealed the title in the dominant way on Monday. Carlsen defeated Hikaru Nakamura 1.5–0.5 in the final, won the first game and drew the second to claim the crown without having to tiebreak.
“It seemed to me that I never gave him any chance,” Carlsen said after lifting his first Grand Slam trophy in this innovative format. His performance through knockout rounds was flawless because he won all his matches in the classic time control without requireing any fast or blitz referee.

Together with the title, Carlsen took home the first price of $ 200,000 and strengthened his domination in this new hybrid format that combines creativity with classic strictness.
Fabiano Caruana Vincent Keymer won the third place and won 1.5–0.5. Caruana, who secured her first game and held a superior position in the second, booked her place at the next Grand Slam event in the US with the aim of the stage.
The Paris Freestyle Chess Grand Slam’s foot introduced the highest interest competition in a refreshing format, and Carlsen once again showed that it remains a man who defeated in any variant of the game.
