On Tuesday, Madurai Corporation submitted a detailed plan to comply with the regulations and the action plan on the Madurai Court in the Madras on the Madras to verify the assessment of the real estate tax in the city.
In the report by Commissioner Madurai Corporation Chitra Vijayan said that 100 teams per 100 departments were created to evaluate real estate tax. Officials and employees were devoted to training for new evaluation procedures for effective implementation. Officers working in corporation as superintendents, assistants of auxiliary income and administrative officials were appointed to carry out inspection work.

JUSTICES SM SU SU SUBRAMANIAM and G. ARUL MURUGAN Bench took knowledge of the report and ordered the state to issue a circle to corporations, municipalities and urban panchayat throughout the state to adhere to the action plan to establish the right inconsistencies in the evaluation of real estate tax. The court ordered the SIT to continue the probe in the fraud of Madurai Corporation.
The court listened to the petition of a public interest in the public interest submitted by the AIADMK Council in Madurai Corporation T. Ravi (Department No. 83), which sought the transfer of the probe to fraud on the CBI. The scam, which occurred between 2022 and 2024, caused a loss of about 200 crore to the civic body, claimed.
