Madhya Pradesh: The police inspector was removed from the field duty and connected to the police lines after he allegedly asked the gym owner to allow Muslim entry in Bhopal facilities, officials said June 3.
The event against Inspector Dinesh Sharma was acquired after a video appeared on the social media that showed him that he was supposedly making controversial comments.
“No Muhammedan (Muslim) comes here to train or complete training. I tell you clearly,” heard a policeman who used the gym owner in the now viral video clip on social media.
The presence of Muslim coaches in a facility
According to reports, a group of people raised objections to the presence of Muslim coaches in the gym at Ayodhya Nagar in Bopal. Members of the Bajranga have visited the gym and raised questions about the presence of Muslim coaches in the facility, the police said, the PTI press agency reported.
Police staff, including Dinesh Sharma, were subsequently called to handle the situation. Sharma reportedly made comments at that time, the official said.
After the social media became a video of his comments, the police started an investigation into this matter. After the investigation, Sharma was connected to police lines on Monday, the official said.
The police made it clear that no such act would be allowed, causing tension between communities, the official added.
Bharatiya Janata (BJP) from Bhopal, Alok Sharma, told the media 1.
“The list of coaches in the gym will be handed over to the police that will act by law,” he said.
The MLA Arif Masood Congress criticized this step and questioned the justification for targeting professionals in a religion based. “Does the gym now run a crime? If it is running according to the rules, what is the problem?” he asked.
