Directorate for enforcement (ED) attached assets worth 5.87 GBP Crore belonging to former President Hyderabad Karnataka Education Society (HKES) Bhimashankar Bilgundi in connection with fraud of postgraduate studies at Mahadevappa Rampure Faculty (MRMC).
The estimated fraud of 81.21 GBP was uncovered a scholarship for 282 postgraduate medical students between 2018 and 2024.
The case was registered at the police station for cyber crime, economics and narcotics offenses (prices) against Dr. Bilgundi, headmaster of the SM Patil University, accounting university Subhashem Jagannath and manager of the branch of Canar Bank Mr. Medical College Branch.
Then the ED officials initiated the investigation and in March 2025 they carried out raids on the residence of Dr. Bilgundi and three others.
It was said that the accused misappropriate scholarship determined for postgraduate medical students by acquiring empty signed post-dates checks from students and downloading the scholarship credited to students.
Ed said the property of Dr. Bilgundi worth 5.87 GBP Crore was connected.
During the investigation it was found that Dr. Bilgundi bought two real estate in the names of his two sons by paying Crore 5.87 GBP without demonstrating any legitimate source of income for the amount. This led to the connection of the property. Further investigation is turned on.
