All suspects of the execution of explosions in the four main places of Assam, including the one that occurred in Bokakhat last week, were arrested by the police and grenades designed for the purposes of them, said on Friday (June 27, 2025).
The “key” involved in the plan is still reef, although the police have their place of stay and will soon be charged, Mr. Sarma said.
Two miscreants transmitted motorcycles lobbied in the CRPF camp in Bokakhat 24. June and injured three police staff who were imprisonment of camp.
When Mr. Sarma addressed a press conference, he said: “The plan was to carry out explosions in Bokakhat, Guwahati, Tezpur and Lakhimpur. The police arrested all those who were to perform these explosions.” The remaining three grenades for explosions and pistols were obtained from the accused’s houses, he said.
Mr. Sarma claimed that “criminal” people were more of a plan and an attack rather than militants, “Further investigation is determined who carried out those persons. At the moment they issue a contradictory statement.” He said that those arrested were obviously not members of any militant organization, although one of them was with ULFA, but was imprisoned for a long time.
“They are people focusing on crimes, one was imprisoned in the case of cattle lifting, the other in the case of drugs, etc. Operations are still ongoing. One person who was in this key must be arrested. He is not in Assam, but we know his place,” Sarma, who also holds the home portfolio, added.
The question of whether such an explosion could lead to the return of AfSPA, said the main minister: “AfSPA is not related to a sporadic incident. It is used in the case of a prolonged uprising. It is also outside our state and we do nothing to bring it.” The Armed Forces Act (AFSPA) is currently in force in three districts of Tinsukia, Charaideo and Sivasagar.
