Lungi Ngidi will be discharged from hospital after suffering a nasty fall during Delhi Capitals’ clash against Punjab Kings at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in New Delhi on Saturday. The South African pacer was taken off the field in an ambulance after hitting the back of his head on the ground while attempting a catch, with immediate concern over the severity of the blow.
Ngidi was taken to hospital after complaining of headache and neck pain following the incident, but Delhi Capitals later confirmed that he is stable and will be released soon. In his absence, Indian all-rounder Vipraj Nigam was brought in as a substitute for Delhi with concussion for the rest of the match.
