Manchester United on the left-back Luke Shaw expressed full support for manager Ruben Amorim and supported the Portuguese coach to direct the club back to the highest form after the disappointment of the 2024-25 season.
United finished 15th. Despite failures, Shaw believes Amorim, who joined the club in the middle in the season, laid the foundations for the turn by instilling team mentality and removing distractions.
“I think his mentality, his requirements (showing he’s the right man),” Shaw said, as Sky Sports quoted.
Shaw admitted AMORIM is a challenging coach Who sets high standards and that there is no room for satisfaction under its leadership.
“The group is extremely hard. It doesn’t leave any stone and I think there are no more stragglers in this group. I think everyone has to give the team the first.
“I think he chooses players about how he feels, will be the best for the team, and that’s his choice. As players, we are fully behind him and fully for his ideas and what he wants to implement in this team. We feel like a real team, especially in this pre -season season.”
When Shaw, thinking about changes from Amorim’s arrival, he emphasized the improved unity in the platoon and contrasted with the turbulent atmosphere that had troubled the club before.
“Since I came back, the group has been so together and I think it’s something we have to keep to make us more families and everyone together and we all go in the same direction.”
“I can’t be any worse than last season,” Shaw added.
Shaw, who was engaged in recurring injuries during his united career, remains optimistic in terms of strong return. He scored a complete pre -season season for helping him regain his fitness and trust.
“Last season I was so low, so I think it’s something else. I feel good and I think especially this season. Of course I didn’t have a pre -season season last season, so I think I’m really able to be able to be fit and train with the team and get minutes.”
Setting high goals: Shaw
Looking forward Shaw sets high goals. Despite the bad performance of United last season, it believes that the focus on Premier League title is the right thinking.
“The goal, I think the goal must be the victory of the Premier League. I know that people will ask me that they say it after last season, but it must be. It’s not just me who thinks. I’m sure the whole team, if you ask them, all have the same goals.”
“Even a manager, I’m sure he wouldn’t say it in the press, but we all have to have the same beliefs and ambitions. As I said, the real family feeling together and we all try to do the same.”
