SC/ST Special Court of Lucknow condemned the advocate who was identified as a Gupta steammanand, to a lifetime prison and imposed £5.10 Lakh fine after being found guilty of abuse of the Dalit Woman identity for a conspiracy in order to register the first information report (companies) in the case of a dispute with property against his opponents, according to the living Hindustan.
Gupta filed at least 18 cases in his own name, which consisted mainly of accusations of rape and harassment.
During the announcement of the verdict, on 18 August, a special judge (SC/ST Prevention of Atrocities Act) Vivekanand Sharan Tripathi held Gupta guilty of connecting with the Dalitian woman named Pooja Rawat. Another 11 cases were filed via Rawat, PTI reported.
The problem arose during the arguments submitted before the High Court in Allahabad, which forced the court to search for reports from the relevant police stations. Subsequently, March 5, 2025, the High Court ordered the CBI investigation.
What did the investigation reveal?
The probe revealed that Gupta was conspired, abuse of the Rawat Dalitian identity to falsely impress Yadava and his family in a fictional case. However, the survey found that Rawat was not present at a controversial place at the time of alleged incidents. Moreover, the house she claimed to be rented was actually the construction of the Yadav family in this period.
On August 4, 2025, Rawat filed a court’s action that admitted that she had manipulated her Gupta and his wife Sangeeet, who owns a beauty salon where Rawat worked as an assistant. Rawat confessed that she was forced to make a false accusation of sexual assault in front of the judge and referred to a waiver.
The Court of Justice, with taking into account acceptance, gave her a conditional grace.
The judge noted that Gupta, fully aware of the fact that the accusation he invented had the potential for prison in a lifelong prison, intentionally dominated the conspiracy. With regard to the seriousness of his conduct, the court concluded that he deserved a strict and exemplary sentence.
Gupta was subsequently sentenced to life imprisonment. In addition, the Court of Justice ordered a copy of the judgment to be sent to the Uttar Pradesh Council to facilitate appropriate disciplinary proceedings against it.
