Hyderabad Metro Rail Chief Electrical Inspector DVS Raju inaugurated L&T Metro Rail’s (Hyderabad) second 1.2 MWp ‘RESCO’ model solar power plant at their Uppal depot on Saturday. The total installed capacity of solar power has increased to 12.41 Mwp from the earlier 11.19 MWp with the addition of this project.
Earlier, Mr. Raju inspected the solar plant along with 0.8/33kV outdoor substation along with L&T Metro COO Sudhir Chiplunkar and Keolis MRTS MD SC Mishra and other senior officials.
Existing solar installations contributed almost 14% to HMR’s total energy consumption and with the commissioning of another 1.2 MWp plant, the share of green energy has now increased to approximately 16% of total energy consumption, further strengthening the organization’s commitment to clean and environmentally responsible operations.
Appointed by the central government, ČIŽP also inspected the advanced test rigs developed by L&TMRH for fault analysis in various components of the metro operation and expressed its appreciation for the efforts made to suppress the faulty functions of relays, a part of rolling stock equipment that was causing disruption to train services.
He further urged the teams to continue their efforts to achieve zero breakdowns, thereby ensuring uninterrupted and most reliable operation of the metro, a press release said.
