Lucknow Super Giants dismissed rumors of a rift between captain Rishabh Pant and the owners after their loss against Delhi Capitals on April 1. LSG lost the match by six wickets after the incredible partnership of Sameer Rizvi and Tristan Stubbs ensured that DC has crossed the line.
After the game was over, Pant was seen talking animatedly to the owners along with coach Justin Langer and director Tom Moody. Pant was seen in deep discussions with the team’s owners and management and was quickly deciphered as a rift between the keeper and the Lucknow hierarchy.

Michael Vaughan told X that it was something he didn’t like because it was only the first game of the season.
“One game into the tournament… There’s no need for this…” Vaughan said on X.
LSG has now released a different angle of the video on their social media accounts. The video shows that the owners appeared to be happy despite the loss and actually comforted Pant despite the loss. Even Langer and Moody seemed to be in good spirits.
LSG also urged fans not to believe everything seen between camera cuts.
“Not everything you see is the real story, here’s unfiltered post-match vibes when the cameras aren’t cutting,” LSG said in a statement.
HINGE IS OPPOSED BY LSG OWNERS
before the season LSG owner Sanjiv Goenka pounced on Pantexpecting him to do well after a tough first season in Lucknow colours.
“What does any captain do when he doesn’t have four fast bowlers? You have to look at it from what he had. I personally have a lot of faith in Rishabh Pant. I know you (media) keep speculating whether Rishabh will stay in LSG or not. I look at all this and just laugh. I think some social media sites need views. Sanjiv Goenka is becoming a very happy and comfortable punching bag,” said Sanjiv Goenka.
LSG will play their next match against SRH in IPL 2026 on 5th April.
