“We were informed that the flight was abolished due to operational questions. The original flight from Ahmedabad to London, which has the AI-171 code, renewed the operation from Monday with the new flight codes AI-159,” the airport clerk said.
The AI-159 flight passenger said, “I was going to fly Air India at 1 pm to Gatwick in London, but I just learned that the flight was canceled.
A relative of a passenger AI-159 says: “We have been told that today’s flight was canceled and left for 1100 hours tomorrow. All passengers are concerned here.”

Another passenger said, “We could have more clarity in terms of when our next flight and everything. 2-3 weeks ago … My next flight is today at 7 pm…”
The official did not work in “operational questions” that caused the cancellation of the flight. The flight AI-171, which crashed shortly after the take-off Ahmedabad 12 June, was replaced by a new code AI-159. All of the 242 passengers and crew members on board AI-171 were killed in the accident.
