On the sixth day of the annual Brahmotsavams of the Sri Kodanda Rama Swami Temple in Tirupati on Sunday, the processional deity of Lord Rama was blessed at the Hanumantha Vahanam to bless the devotees.
Accompanied by temple paraphernalia, including decorated chariots, bulls and horses moving in procession and groups of bhajans performing kolatam, the deity was taken around the four mada streets of the temple amid devotional fervour.
According to tradition, in Treta Yuga, Lord Hanuman is worshiped as the foremost devotee of Lord Rama, symbolizing unwavering devotion and service.
Later Snapana Thirumanjanam was performed to the processional idols of Lord Rama, Sita and Lakshmana. As part of the ritual, the deities were ceremoniously anointed with milk, curd, honey, coconut water, turmeric and sandalwood.
In the evening Lord Rama again blessed the devotees on Gaja Vahanam.
Tirumala Sri Sri Sri Pedda Jeeyar Swamy, Deputy EO Naga Ratnam, Temple Inspector Suresh, priests and a large number of devotees participated in the Vahana Seva programmes.
