The main Minister Maharashtra Devendra Fadnavis faced his counterpart to Stalin’s criticism on Tuesday and said he needed a deep understanding of national educational policy (NEP) before trying to clarify from the Prime Minister and asked why he was not open.
The reaction of Mr. Fadnavis comes the day after Mr. Stalin was looking for clarification since the Prime Minister and the Minister of Education of the Union, whether the Center had officially approved the position of Mr. Fadnavis that “no other language other than marathi is compulsory in the Mahashtra as the third language under NEP”.
In response to Mr. Stalin’s contribution to X Mr. Fadnavis, he asked to study what was and provided a link to the web first. He added that NEPS never insisted or did not make a compulsory choice of language, but only asked students to study two Indian languages other than English.
“As far as Maharashtra is concerned, we are open to Hindi, Tamil, Teluga, Cannada, Sanskrit or any language that students want to learn as a third language,” he said.
He asked Mr. Stalin why he was not open to the multilingual and why he had a problem if someone wanted to learn Hindi.
