The 50-member team of the rapid response (RRT) of the Keral Forest Department led by the main veterinary surgeon Arune Zacharah was deployed to capture the Tiger Man-eater in the Kalikav district in the Malappuram district on Thursday.
The main conservator of the forest T. Uma told reporters on Friday that although 50 traps were set up for cameras to locate Tiger on Thursday evening, it has not yet been successful. However, the paws of the tiger were found.
She said two trained elephants Kumki were brought from Muthang in Wayanad to help with the mission. A group of drones was also deployed. RRT plans to perform search operations in three teams 20, with a veterinarian in each of them. They plan to capture the tiger using soothing images.
On Thursday morning, the tiger disrupted the death of Gafoor Ali (44) on the rubber plantation in Adakkakud.
The locals later protested against the repeated threats of wild animals in the area and demanded that the tiger be killed.
