Since the application accumulates, a large number of real estate owners in the city are still waiting to transform soil as dry soil (Puryidam). Almost 16,000 applications from Kanayannur Taluk, which includes the basic urban areas of Kochi, remains with many of them at different stages of the process.
Of the 29,687 applications received from land holders in Taluk until mid -September, almost 14,000 were resolved, the Ministry of Income said. Processing applications received since January this year has started, they added.
Kanayannur Taluk covers key local authorities, including Kochi Corporation, Thrikkara, Thripunithura and Kalamassery municipalities, as well as several grammys of Panchayat in the urban suburbs. The collector’s representative (Recoverue Recovery) was assigned to decide on requests to convert land from Taluk. Although Fort Kochi was originally intended to solve such applications in the district, the work was divided last year among three collectors and divisional director Muvattutupuzha (RDO) to make this process more efficient.
The authorities stated that the urban nature of taluk, with a large number of small ground land ultrasounds – many of which are on regenerated land – was the main reason for the high number of applications from the region. “Approximately 85% of applications are under 25 cents for land. A rush to convert land is natural, because landowners can use their assets for residential, business or industrial purposes or even use a bank loan to ensure that the land falls into the category of dry land in records.”
The official added that applications waiting for the decision include those waiting for reports of the relevant village officers and those that require the presentation of the necessary documents, including land sketches. “In some cases, inspections need to be verified for verification. There are also cases where authorities have to obtain satellite images and reports from the distance survey and the environment of Keraral to verify the land category,” the officials stressed.
A collector’s representative (Recovery) in Abbas, which was assigned to Kanayannur Taluk to convert land, said a large volume of requests is the primary reason why many cases are waiting. “We processed as many applications as possible daily, and our teams got dates to process them,” he added.
