Andhra Pradesh Minister of Hrd and IT Nara Lolesh.
Andhra Pradesh Minister of Nara Lokets consisted heavily on those who penetrated the Banakacherl project, and accused certain political groups of inciting water disputes over political profits.
Loking, who addressed a press conference on Thursday, said the state government would ensure that the Central Water Commission (CWC) issued the Polavaram-Banakachalra project. “I’ll write a letter CWC. We’ll see that the project will get all permits,” he said.
The government has a clear vision that water that unnecessarily flows into the sea should be better used. ” The project may not have water in the case of dry spells. In such cases, the project will be idle for about a year. Why shouldn’t we use excess waters flowing into the sea during the remaining years? “He asked.
Referring to the Kaleshwaam project in Telangana, he asked whether the necessary authorizations were introduced before the construction of the project. “If the project is designed in the Downstream state, what right must protest against the current?” He asked with reference to the ongoing disputes between the state.
He hated apparent double standards in water sharing between Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. “If Andhra Pradesh uses water that enters his territory after telangana, why is it bad? One rule for AP and another for Telangan – is it justified?” he asked.
The Minister’s remarks come in the middle of the growing debate on the water sharing authorization and the interstate project, while the Banakacherla project is now a wider political discussion on Wednesday.
