IT Minister Nara Lokesh unveiled a bronze statue of former chief minister of undivided Andhra Pradesh Konijeti Rosaiah at Siripuram Circle in Visakhapatnam on Monday. Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Lokesh described Rosaiah as an embodiment of political values ​​and integrity. The statue was unveiled in the presence of MP M Sribharat, Industry and Commerce Minister TG Bharath Gupta and other dignitaries. Recalling the demand raised by the Arya Vysya community during his ‘Yuva Galam padayatra’, Mr. Lokesh said that the community expressed the need to respect their self-respect. The government provided the land and the community raised funds and installed a statue of Potti Sriramula in Amaravati. With the consent of the Arya Vysya elders, we have named the statue of Potti Sriramula as “Sacrifice Statue”.

“Today, the installation of Rosaiah’s statue in Visakhapatnam is another historic day. I suggest that Rosaiah’s statue be named ‘Statue of a Statesman’,” he said. “He was a great statesman and a leader whom I admired. He never showed arrogance even when he was in power. When he was in opposition, he constantly challenged the government on behalf of the people,” Lokesh added. Mr. Lokesh suggested that books and special videos detailing Rosaiah’s life and political career should be produced and made available to the youth. He also called for a museum dedicated to Rosaiah’s life. He urged the elders of the Arya Vysya community to identify a site for the museum and complete it within 18 months. Industry and Commerce Minister TG Bharath Gupta recalled his association with Rosaiah and paid tribute to his services. He recalled how Rosaiah had encouraged his father, TG Venkatesh, to induct him into the Cabinet during his tenure as Chief Minister, and highlighted Rosaiah’s significant efforts in the development of the Arya Vysya community. Mr. Bharath also expressed gratitude to Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu and Mr. Lokesh for giving due importance to the Arya Vysya community in the alliance government. He asked Mr. Lokesh to represent the Arya Vysya community in the board of Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD). MP Mathukumilli Sribharat, MLA Palla Srinivasa Rao, AP Arya Vysya Corporation Chairman Dundhi Rakesh and local public representatives attended the event.
